MEDIOCRACY IS FORBIDDEN
Saturday, August 8, 2009

Just to inform you guys, I’ve created this new Blog account for my English class. Probably my professor would read this so It’ll be better say something “good” to impress her? Uhmm.. maybe I’ll write something about her? Maybe a little introduction will do.

AHEM!! My very first encounter with her syempre is in the first day of class. I arrived at school late for about 15 or should I say 16 minutes? In La Salle we are considered late if we entered the class 15 minutes late considering that our classrooms are very far from each other. Suddenly I saw a lady wearing semi-formal clothes inside the classroom. I thought that she doesn’t look like a professor, more like a student teacher that subs when the prof is away. She introduced herself, her name is Ms. Rhodaline Escala, just as I thought she’s only 21 years of age too young to be a prof but she speaks confidently in English! She had #1 rule! She said “I HATE MEDIOCRE STUDENTS IN MY CLASS if you consider yourself as one of them, then leave the room” at first I wasn’t familiar with the word "MEDIOCRE" then someone told me that it means “Simple or Ordinary” I thought that she expects too much for a freshman students.

Another week passed she gave an assignment before but some of my classmates failed to bring a1x1 pic then she suddenly bursted out and said “DIDN’T I TOLD YOU BEFORE THAT I HATE MEDIOCRE AND IRESPONSIBE STUDENTS? IF YOU CAN’T COPE UP WITH THAT I DON’T THINK THAT YOU WOULD PASS THIS SUBJECT” at that moment I really thought that she would eat us alive and she would be strict through the whole semester! :O

Another week passed, she looked much prettier and blooming in the past few meetings,(It's true!!) It’s like we became comfortable with each other then she began to laugh with some of our jokes, smiles when we greeted her and acts like a teenager but still we respect her as our professor.. (Sana ganun na lang palage haha!) then we are asked to work on a composition about Love. I don’t know why she’s so interested in that topic haha!!

While I was writing this blog, I PM Jannah coz I dunno if this is English 100 or 101 haha! then Jannah told me that they’ve seen Ms. Rhodaline in SM Dasma withdrawing some money with another guy(are they having a date?) Haha.. Just as I thought.. That's why we are asked to do those compositions! (huli ka ma'am! haha)

I dunno If Ms Rhodaline would fail me because of what I wrote in this account haha.. I wish that I we remain close as possible with no walls in between (but there should always be a student-teacher boundary). Uhmm she’s fun to be with pala, My first impression of her is not the same as of now and If you would look her in a different angle you’ll see that she’s very Extra-ordinary and fun to be with!! Auin! Succes ba ang una kong BLOG?!

*NOTE: It's not the exact words that Ms. Rhodaline had said, I just rephrase some words to it so I can emphasize her expression haha! :D Thanks for reading guys!

High school Life is Indeed the BEST!!

“As I received my diploma, I knew that this is the moment I have been waiting for, a chapter of my life that needs an end yet another new chapter of my Life that was about to begin”

It was a rainy afternoon, and my Mom hasn’t been home yet coz she’s in the salon and as if she was the one who will stand in the stage and receive “my” Diploma! Almost all of my classmates and friends are there at the PICC Complex and I am waiting here in our house irritated and thinking what will be the consequences if we arrived late in PICC. (I was thinking that I’ll miss the graduation march and that’s one of the my most memorable experiences of my High school life and because of my mother that is still inside the salon, that won’t never ever gonna happen!)

Finally she arrived with a different hair style than before. Her hair was straighten up and have small curls at the end, her make-up makes her unrecognizeable to us, like she’s really the one that will attend the ceremony. Then I immediately told her that we only have a few hours before the ceremony starts. Then she packed all things that we needed and we immediately go inside the car.

We were on our way when I started to receive GMs of my friends that they were inside the Hall and some texted me that its traffic around Coastal Road. We weren’t even there yet! I’m really nervous if we can make it in time. It’s quite traffic in Coastal Road but we passed by it in no time. Haay!! Finally we were near at PICC and it started to rain, we forgot to bring the umbrella so we rushed in the rain and went to the PICC Lobby. There are still students waiting outside I said to myself “Thank God we’re not Late! Hahah”

With 30 minutes remaining we immediately went to the hall that is assigned to us, my mom and my brother find their own seats while I fall in line and wait before the ceremony starts. As the Graduating Ceremony starts I was armed with my Digi-cam and captured the very last moments of being a High school student, captured best shots of my colleagues as I watched them received their fruit of hard work. When it was my turn, I felt a sudden relief where in I realized that every thing that I went through was worth it. And I asked my self, “Is this the end?” NO, it is not. It is a start of a new beginning where it opens the doors of opportunities and a new room to grow.

High school Life is indeed the BEST!! :D
